For me to have walked into the arena of war, government, secrets, politics,
and deceit at the age of twenty-two was ridiculous. Yet I was forced to.
Because of our war on terrorism and our involvement in Iraq, we now have a whole
new set of POWs and MIAs. I hope that through reading my story, people will get a
better understanding of the ramifications of being classified as POW or MIA.
I must admit that on those occasions when I've been emotionally drained from
doing battle with the government, I wonder if all this has been a cruel hoax.
